Hands-on stretching:

After assessing your range of motion, your nervous system and posture, manual therapy may be utilized to release restrictions. Often times, due to repeated postures, injury or surgery, our muscles and tissues get tight. Or perhaps you have always felt tighter in your hips, hamstrings, neck, etc. Manual stretching can assist you with releasing your tissues more than you may be able to do on your own. Stretching techniques such as proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) may be used to lessen the resistance of the muscles. Soft tissue mobilization and myofascial decompression during the stretch may also facilitate tissue release. Benefits include improved range of motion, improved function and less pain.
